Read..

Ready to advance in your career, but can’t move forward without going back to school? Ready to go back to school, but can’t afford to without a job? You’re not alone. In fact, you might be surprised at how common (and how realistic) it is to work while going to school.

1. Most students work.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, over 78% of undergraduate students work—a figure that’s held steady since the 1990s. On average, working students hold down 30 hour-per-week jobs. You are not alone. Others have found a way to achieve their academic goals while working--and you can learn from their success. Time management is critical.

2. 25% of full-time students also work full time.

Granted, this cuts down on family time, vacations, and socializing with friends, but one in four students are making it work. They are committed to earning their degree while holding down a full-time job. In other words, it is realistic to commit to work full time and complete your degree.

3. Two thirds of working students are doing it to pay for college.

The American Council for Education (ACE) found that the main reason students work is to pay their tuition, fees and living expenses while attending college. Rather than relying solely on loans, most students choose to bridge the financial gap by applying for scholarships, taking affordable general education courses online, and earning an income.

4. Try to work in a field related to your major.

Are you thinking about a career change? Maybe you’re looking to get into computer programming or work your way into healthcare. You may have to wait until after you graduate to start your dream job, but it’s a good idea to at least get your foot in the door. The right job, one that helps you gain work experience in your field, can give you a head start. That experience will improve your chances of getting hired and increase your earning power.

5. One third of working students still work at the same jobs they held before college.

A sizable number of students decide to go back to college after a few years in the workforce, either to gain new skills or to deepen the skills they’ve picked up on the job. These students are likely to stick with their current job. Why quit if you’re trying to get promoted? Find out if your company offers tuition assistance to help cover the cost. Many companies see adult education as a good investment. Work with your boss to discuss your career path and share it with your enrollment counselor to leverage a relevant degree plan.

6. Working can actually improve your school performance.

Even with the related time constraints, having a job can help keep you more focused on what’s important. As a working professional, you face business challenges and workplace issues that apply directly to the college courses you’re taking. It’s always easier to write a paper about a topic that’s relevant to your career. Some students take it a step further and share school projects with their boss and turn their research into a solution that solves a problem at work. What a great way to add value and position yourself for a promotion!
Whatever your skill level, educational background or financial situation, college is a golden opportunity to improve and grow. It’s a smart investment in your future, even if you have to work harder to make ends meet. Do you have what it takes to work while going to school? The facts don’t lie: You really can do it, no matter what.

Burny Study Center Shubham Burnwal and Anubhav Singh

Burny Study Circle

How it started? 5 Feb 2023

Shubham and Anubhav walked in my office and shared that they are interested to launch their startup.  What they need is Rs 30 K as an investment. They wish to dedicate their time and effort for the next FOUR months ( Feb, Mar, Apr, May 2023) . They are already placed in the best corporates. Doing this venture is to EXPERIMENT!

What should I do? Should I give money and ask them to launch their startups? Should I ask them STOP thinking of their startup and get ready for their employment?

Both the students are  still students. They are in their final and end module . This venture is being planned to be implemented as part of their 9 Months project work. Both the students are also taking their final one academic course as part of their PGDIE course. Both the  students are frequent visitors to my cabin and  I know their enterpreneurial deeds.

Shubham last year did his internship in a startup. He comes back and narates me, that the

As a startup faculty, I got tempted. Why not I try to introduce both the students to senior NITIE Alum  seeking their handholding of these two youngsters . I immediately recorded a audio of their interest and shared with half a dozen of alumni. La behold ! There was response.

One NITIE alum had shown interest and asked their names and linked in profile. I shared the profiles. He had chekced their profile and asked them to contact. In no time, they got investment and term sheet is signed and startup implementaiton just begun ! It is so quick !

Both the students are started to go to the place of the startup .

Local MLA is the guest of honour to inaugurate the co-study space !

There is a story behind buying this inverter ..It costed around Rs 20 K ! More in due

Shubham going back to the place in a train.. and the ticket is WL.

Student Startups are SPV Special Purpose Vehicles !

Kerala Dr Sam Thomas Student Startups
- Future of Higher Edn is related to Student Startups !
- Student Startups - Examples ! Dell computers. Bill gates, and Steve Jobs are not!
Gopinath, Lal 10, Vaave, Cashify, Cropwheel. The book by Rashmi Bansal carries several cases of students started their startups. Strictly speaking, these cases may not be considered Student Startups. Reason is, academic support is zero for these startups! Startups are not embedded as part of the acadmeic learning process. Rather these startups are parallel and outside of acadmic system.
- Startups by Students Vs. Non Students! Differences ! Purpose, Process, Inputs, Investments, Outputs, Metrics are all different.
- Startups by Students Vs. Non Students! Similarities ! Common is only
- Purpose of Student Startups are different !
Student startup purposes are not the same like a typical startup ! In reality, they are reverse!
Surpriisng ! Yes. It will be! Purposes can be tweeked, retweaked and create for specific purposes. Why not startups - the process and management of them is used to  realise and achieve something differnet that is never imagined and tried ! Student startups are a new tool in the hands of HE academics to achieve the higher education goals effectively.  So, Student startups are designed to be automatic outcome of HE learning process!
Student Startups lead to better  and deep learning; They help to measure the learning, They are for monetizing the learning quick and fast!
- Student startups are  Special Purpose Ventures SPV ! The Purpose of SS is  Excellent Edn!
- Student Startups are created with limited life ! They are CREATED, USED and finally Disposed when the purpose is achieved. SELLING a startup by a student is ultimate thing to happen! What a wonderful thing ! Why to sell a startup ? Why not ? A student again and again can create more and one more, and many more startups !  Why to sell and why not to sell -is the biggest learning for a young student ?
-Avail startups for educating the students, use them and jettison after education.
 - For achieving good placements and affordable edn
- Need not be solely entrp!

Vishesh Vudhesh Vudyam .

Startups make learning exciting to students for  unique set of  reasons.
Student startups need not for survival, continue into future and scale up and up!
..But for  SEEDING enterprising among the student SOULS
- Success of Student startup is measured by different metrics! Failure is the real success in case of a student enteprise. Reason, student will have fantastic learning. In reality the purpose of student startup is nothing but learning. Growth and scaling up  are incidental things in case of a student startup !  Reason is simple, growth and scale up are not the relevatn metrics in case of a young woman / man who is just getting into the world ! These things can come up and crop up in due, but need not be at this stage !
For a student,  startup is some thing special. They are not second , third and Nth dots ! But FIRST and very first DOTs ! This means, every student, without exception, can start a startup! No student cant do a startup for the simple reason, because, these are First Dots !
- Student startups are mandatory learning method ! Specialty, is that earning is chosen and embeded as part of curricular learning for achieving effective learning.
- Student Startup will be directly related to what a student is studying and trying to learn! If a student is studying biology startup will be related to biology; if chemistry is pursued then the startup must relate to chemistry.  Some say, there cant be chemistry related startup by a chemistry student startup. This is meaningless !  How come a chemistry student start something related to phenol cant be a chemistry related startup !

Why so ?  Reverse question is, why not ? If a student is studying geology what is wrong for the student to develop a startup in the related area ! A music student, law student, sports student, maths student necessarily launch startups directly related to their subject areas !
Typical Student Startup is.... informal, irregular, micro, tiny, lean , simple, unorganised, unsystmatic,
1. Startup.....Enterpreneurs Vs. Students
Usual principles are.. Innovation, Scale up,  Technology Value,
Not related to studies, Inherently related to studies
Purpose is ..Enterpreneurship vs Education
2. Pain Point - Customer Vs  Student !
☐  Quick, Sell; Default time, talent, effort spent by the students for academic learning is innovatively used in creating a startup !
3. A student being a student ones time, talent, effort, thinking, traveling, talking, searching and researching and all that hard work done for the purpose of curricular learning  is being used simultaneously for the emergence of a startup !  What is wrong to use the working innovatively  in a way that both the things are achieved ? This is the question Gen Z teaching faculty need to ask for themselves?  Learning  is a Startup ! Why the academic labour need be wasted! Why not it be used innovativley which will also in return enhance the learning itself !  In reality, the academic labour  and the startup both mutually help each other.

4. Instructor given informaiton is implemented by the student in a way generating Income instantaneously !
5. Student Startup - Types .. One  hour, One day, One week, One month, One course , One quarter / module, Summer / Winter / Final Enterprise project etc.
5. Student starutps does not warant elaborate incubation but caring academic support .grace marks, attendance waiver, using assignments , using academic breaks , zero risk taking, break semester, opportunity grabbing , 4 affectuation principles, placement focused, alumni support, fellow classmates as beta poll, competitions conferences, faculty and industry  mentors...EDUBATION
6. Student Startups are commanding enarmous Govt support !
Compute the learning. Student useful .
7. Behadh Shiksha ...Na Hadh ! Aseemith  Learning, Earning Relearning ..
Edubating Startups ..Incubating Startups .
Student startups are tool to turnout BEST students

Seekne ka pravhaav PRAKAT HONA..
Nirodh..Shiksha  Prati Rodh kaam kar re
Mahoal aur Rasta ...me farakh hai .
Sadana aur Dan ka bath naahi.  Ye,'Sadan' dene ka baath hai  ..
Student Startup is .. such a tool !

- Will I get paid or not ?

- How much I would get PAID ?

- Is there a way I get PAID more than once ?

-------------

Either People;Goes  and Comes;Effort; Exchange; Effect;Economic Value !

------------

1. What is that I have! What is that it can be?

4. I avail the problems as opportunities

5. I cant avail the help of others! I have to do with my own efforts!

What to LEARN  and What NOT to ?

- Which Knowledge that is learnt today is RIGHT and that is WRONG ?

- Which Knowledge  to learn is PRIORITY across many that are learnt ?

- Which Knowledge is ESSENTIAL / ANCILLARY for sucessful learning!

- Which Knowledge is USEFUL and  which is USELESS ?

- What Knowledge is REQUIRED today at the expense of future ?

-  What Knowledge to learn NEXT !
